HOW DO I SECURE THE BOOKING FOR MY WEDDING MAKEUP?

Securing your booking is simple, as we chat, I will gather information from you about the services each person in your bridal party would like, usually I send you my bridal contract form via Google Docs. Once I have that, I will build and send you a contract to review and sign. You want to ensure each member of your bridal party is absolutely set on receiving their services, once a member is on your contract, they cannot be removed, and you will be responsible for their cost if they choose not to have services done. I have had circumstances where a member has suddenly changed their mind on having services done, in that case I always offer to let you find someone to fill their spot so you don’t lose out on the cost of services (this only applies IF it is at least two weeks prior to your wedding date, if something changes within two weeks of your wedding day, you will still be responsible for that members cost of services). Once I send your contract, I will also include information on how place your booking fee to secure your date. Your date is fully secured when I’ve received the signed contract as well as your booking fee.

HOW MUCH IS THE BOOKING FEE, WHEN IS IT DUE AND WHEN IS FINAL PAYMENT DUE?

Your booking fee is 50% of your contract total, generally, when I send a contract, it's due within 3 days. Final payment is due either two days prior to your wedding date when paying with Venmo, PayPal or Zelle. Or I allow you to pay day of your wedding in cash.

*The only time I accept payment day of is if/when you are paying in cash

HOW FAR DO YOU TRAVEL, WHAT IS THE COST?

Anywhere in the New England area. (Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts) Travel is calculated round trip. Travel is $50 per hour, round trip.

DO YOU CHARGE EXTRA FOR SUNDAY OR BANK HOLIDAY WEDDING MAKEUP?

No, the cost is the same whatever day you book as I believe there should not be a premium for a certain day of the week or public holidays.

WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

I accept Zelle (preferred), Venmo, PayPal and Cash.

CAN I ADD EXTRA PEOPLE TO MY WEDDING MAKEUP BOOKING AFTER THE INITIAL BOOKING HAS BEEN MADE?

Yes. I just need to know the final list of who is getting makeup services done at least one month in advance so I can make the final timeline and make sure I have the team you will need to accommodate your whole wedding party. I’ve had scenarios where we have a member on the fence about makeup. If this is the case, let me know, I generally can allow a “time gap” to accommodate if that member suddenly starts to see everyone else and is feeling like they too should have their makeup done. If time allows, I’ll make it work!

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY WEDDING MAKEUP OR REDUCE THE NUMBERS FOR MAKEUP?

Cancellations of the wedding in its entirety can be done at any point however you may still be responsible for costs-depending on when you cancel. However, deposits are always non-refundable per my contract. Please see my terms and conditions for details.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CHANGE MY WEDDING DATE?

You are more than welcome to re-schedule your wedding date due to unforeseen circumstances, however, if you have a new date in mind I will need to check if I am available, if I am unavailable, your deposit is still non-refundable unless an agreement has been made between the two of us. Please see my terms and conditions for details.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO YOU TAKE BOOKINGS AND DO YOU HAVE LAST MINUTE AVAILABILITY?

I usually take bookings up to 2 years in advance so it is never too early to book as a matter of fact, I encourage it! I get countless brides who think waiting isn’t a bad idea. I can personally tell you, any wedding vendor would tell you, since COVID dates have filled up years in advance so if you have/want a specific vendor, book as soon as you can. Per availability, I can also book last-minute weddings and if I can make it happen, I will!

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE MAKEUP TRIAL AND HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

I will firstly provide a full in-depth consultation. This is where I will go through with you every detail so I can gain a real understanding of exactly what you do and don’t like. Taking into account your personal style and makeup preferences i.e., whether you like a subtle makeup look or prefer a bolder more dramatic look. Detailing any color schemes and themes for the wedding to incorporate into the final look.

We will make note of any skin issues you would like to conceal and features you would like to enhance.

Once a style has been decided, I will start doing your makeup showing you every stage so you feel comfortable with the chosen look, if necessary, I will make any changes to the makeup to ensure you are perfectly happy with the look.

At the end of the consultation, I confirm all the details and timings for the wedding day so you can relax knowing everything is organized and in place for your special day.

Please allow 1.5 -2 hours for the bridal trial bridesmaid/wedding party trials may take a little less time. Please note multiple style changes will take longer and may result in a higher trial cost.

WHAT DO I NEED TO PREPARE FOR THE MAKEUP TRIAL?

I will reach out one week prior to your scheduled appointment text with details for your trial appointment.

You will send your makeup ideas prior to our appointment.

Come with freshly cleansed and moisturized skin and absolutely no makeup on.

WHERE DOES THE TRIAL TAKE PLACE AND DO YOU COME TO MY LOCATION ON THE WEDDING DAY?

Trials take place either with me in Fryeburg, at my partners salon in Bath or sometimes I arrange to come to you if it fits better in my schedule and if it’s more convenient. Generally, I chat with you about the options to find the best fit for both you and I.

Yes, I come right to you on your wedding day.

WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO WEAR MY USUAL MAKE UP FOR THE TRIAL ?

I have my clients come with clean faces. Simply show up with freshly cleansed and moisturized skin. If you don’t use a moisturizer, no big deal, I have them on hand as it’s part of the prep before your makeup application. I ask you to avoid using any heavy moisturizers or eye creams as they can cause “pilling” under the makeup.

DO I NEED TO COLLECT IMAGES OF THE STYLES I LIKE BEFORE MY TRIAL?

Absolutely yes! In your trial confirmation text, I will include exactly what photos will be the most helpful to get you your “dream bridal look”. I ask my clients to either send over pictures at that time or have them ready for the day of your trial. This also includes any “selfies” you may have of yourself and what you typically wear each day for makeup (which can be very helpful for me-if you’re a girl who religiously wears liner in the water line and that’s what makes you, you, I never want to take that from you especially on your wedding day)- if you are not a makeup wearer, no worries, just let me know! This ensures I can spend the appointment working on recreating the look, rather than looking through Pinterest or trying to “figure out” and nail down exactly what you’re looking for. It saves the most time and ensures that your trial goes smoothly, in my many years doing bridal, I’ve found that brides who don’t have any ideas tend to have a harder time identifying exactly what it is that they like or don’t like about a makeup look. This also ensures that we only need to do one trial which is crucial as trials fill up SO quickly and are limited due to timing.

CAN THE BRIDESMAIDS/ BRIDES MOM HAVE A TRIAL?

This is entirely their/your choice. Bridesmaids and Moms don't need to have a trial run, however in the past I have done them. I am happy to schedule an appointment before the big day to alleviate any concerns.

IS IT OK TO INVITE A FRIEND ALONG WHEN I HAVE MY TRIAL?

Absolutely! I love having friends or family come to the trial run to share their feedback. I do ask that you keep it to a maximum of three guests as depending on where we are having your trial, space may be a factor.

*Guest limits may be subject to change with the ongoing COVID pandemic.

WHEN SHOULD I HAVE MY TRIAL?

Typically, I schedule our trial runs for the current season between the months of November/December of the current year (this may not always be an option, but I like to keep it as an option, but normally trials are held from January-April of the following year. During booking, if I have already selected trial dates, I will let you know of available days and times. Generally, I book my brides based on their wedding date. If your wedding is earlier on in the season (April-July), I will reach out to you first, and then the remaining (July-October) brides will be contacted after that. This ensures everyone gets a trial in a timely manner with enough time prior to the wedding to make any changes.

WHAT IF THE DATES YOU HAVE DONT WORK WITH MY SCHEDULE? CAN WE SELECT ANOTHER DATE?

The short answer is yes! However, I pre-select these “trial” dates ahead of time as it’s easiest to schedule multiple bridal trials in a day at one location. Your trial block is approximately 1.5 hours. This allows me ample time to try out the styles you’re looking to achieve as well as talk about logistics such as bridal party dynamics and schedules for the day of your wedding. If dates don’t work for you, I am happy to try to individually accommodate your schedule especially if you’re located outside of the state of Maine. Let me know this at the time of booking so I can ensure I make a note!

WHAT IF I CANT HAVE A TRIAL DUE TO TIME OR SCHEDULING CONFLICTS?

First off, don’t worry! I have done dozens of weddings without doing a trial prior to, and I always make it happen! I ask for lots of photos of your skin naturally, no makeup, as well as photos with your “everyday” makeup, and as many inspiration photos and direction ahead of time to alleviate any concerns you may have. Please note, I usually only do trials prior to my season which starts in May. If you book past May or are looking for a trial during my height season (May-October) I will do my best to accommodate, but due to very high demand, I may not be able to make a trial happen during that time. With that being said, when making your wedding day of schedule, I usually will schedule more time than I normally do with you to ensure that you love your look and we get it right, but I promise, your makeup look will be everything you dreamed of and more!

CAN I BOOK A TRIAL BEFORE BOOKING THE WEDDING DATE?

I am happy to do a trial run prior to booking, with that being said, I do a “hold the date” deposit option so your date is held with me until your trial. “Hold the Date” is usually a portion of your (the brides) wedding makeup cost. The day of your trial, as long as you are happy with the look, we will then complete your contract and you will be asked to put down your remaining deposit (I usually gather that information during your trial and send you your official contract the next day). I do receive several inquiries every day, so, after your trial, your “hold the date” will be null and void so be sure to let me know right away if you plan to book with me as I cannot ensure the security of your date until I have received an official contract and full deposit. I would highly recommend booking as soon as you have selected your date as they fill up extremely fast.

WHAT IF I’M NOT HAPPY AFTER MY TRIAL?

I will follow up after your trial run to discuss your feedback and any changes you want to make. If you are unhappy, I will gladly do a second trial run to make sure we create the perfect look for your wedding day. I encourage the most honesty and constructive criticism! I don’t get offended because I truly understand how perfect you want this day to be! My biggest concern is making sure you love this look for the big day so honesty is key! If we do a second trial run and you still aren’t loving the look or feel as though I am not the right fit for you, it is okay. Over the years I have yet to have this happen as I do my best to accommodate you on every level but I encourage transparency and know how important this day is for you. If this is the case, please reach out to me and we can discuss options in terms of your contract and payment details.

HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU NEED ON THE WEDDING DAY?

I always block roughly one hour to an hour and a half for the bride on her wedding day (depending on if we had a trial and what look you’re going for). Services for the wedding party are 30-45 minutes per service depending on the makeup look.  Something that sets me apart is my day of scheduling for your wedding day. During your trial we will discuss details such as these and I will give you a hand-out with exactly what I’ll need from you in the months leading up to your wedding. This will help me to build your schedule flawlessly while falling withing the timing guidelines that either your photographer, planner or venue gives you. I carefully map out your day with a comprehensive timeline/schedule with you to make sure things run smoothly. You will have the ability to edit/move around this schedule before we finalize it to ensure your day runs exactly how you want your day to go!

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE WEDDING DAY AND HOW LONG WILL MAKEUP TAKE?

I typically arrive 15-30 minutes before I am scheduled to begin with your wedding party to set up and scope out your getting ready space.

I will set up an area for makeup, usually, I would ask for a location with lots of natural light for applying the makeup if possible.

Based on the timeline you have reviewed and approved prior to your wedding day I will start with your wedding party at the allotted time. Each service takes between 30-55 minutes; however, I do build in a cushion for any clients that take a little longer or need changes.

For the bride, I give between an hour to an hour and a half so I can take my time and give you time relax and decompress.

WHAT ABOUT TOUCH UPS ON THE BIG DAY? HOW WILL THE MAKEUP LAST? DO YOU GIVE US ANYTHING TO HELP ENSURE LONGEVITY?

Something that sets me apart is my “touch up bags” I give to anyone receiving makeup services. Each bag is fully equipped with everything you may need in case of emergency as well as for touch ups as the day progresses. In each bag you will receive: your lip color, blotting sheets, qtips, bobby-pins, tic-tacs and a makeup wipe for easy removal at the end of the day.

DO YOU OFFER A SERVICE WHERE YOU STAY DURING THE WEDDING OR RECEPTION TO DO TOUCH-UPS FOR MAKEUP FOR THE BRIDE OR BRIDAL PARTY?

Yes, I do offer this service, this does come with an additional fee, if this is something you’re interested in, please let me know during booking and we will discuss additional cost based on time.

I HAVE A LARGER WEDDING PARTY OR GUESTS STAYING LOCALLY CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE LARGER GROUPS OR MULTIPLE LOCATIONS?

Yes! I can comfortably handle up to 12 people in a wedding party if the timing allows. If timing is tighter, I may bring an assistant with me to help make sure I stay within the time frame needed to finish on time. If an assistant is required, there is a $100 fee per assistant (usually only one assistant is required).  I try my best not to move locations as set up and break down times as well as travel to a new location take time out of the service schedule.

WHEN DO WE PAY THE FINAL BALANCE FOR THE WEDDING DAY MAKEUP?

The final balance is due 2 days prior to your event if you’re paying via Venmo, PayPal or Zelle however, I will gladly accept cash for final payment on the day of your wedding.

WILL MY MAKEUP LAST THE WHOLE DAY?

I pride myself on my skills in this field and have over the years discovered the best products to ensure your makeup will last the whole day and into the evening.

IS THERE A RUNNING ORDER/SCHEDULE FOR WEDDING MAKEUP ON THE DAY?

After years of experience in bridal makeup I will make sure this is something I discuss with you during your trial, and if you don’t /can’t have a trial I will set up a call to discuss scheduling.

I would recommend Bridesmaid/MOB that is going to get the bride into her wedding dress go first, that way once they have had their makeup done they can get themselves ready so they will be free to help the bride into her dress once her makeup is finished.

I will also ask about anyone who is going to be running around, setting up things at the venue, as we want to make sure they go and get all of those tasks done before sitting for makeup especially during the summer months! Anyone doing many tasks and sweating or being out in the elements should have their tasks completed to prior to makeup to ensure longevity. If this isn’t possible, don’t worry, I’ll most likely still be in the building in case anyone needs touch ups!

I also understand that each bridal party comes with its own dynamics, and no one is perfect, I understand there may be some varying personalities that may be better if there are certain members that are done earlier versus later to avoid conflict! Please let me know of these things ahead of time, and don’t worry, I won’t tell!

It would be advisable for the bride to have her makeup done towards the end of the timeline to ensure her look is fresh and fabulous for the walk down the aisle. I allow between an hour to an hour and a half (depending on if she had a trial and the look she’s going for) for the bride so you can sit down and relax and I can take my time to create your perfect wedding day look.

I would advise Mother of the Bride/Groom, junior bridesmaids, flower girls, or anyone not involved in dressing the bride or directly in the bridal party to go last as they can easily slip their dresses on.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU ARE SICK ON MY WEDDING DAY?

I have an amazing network of artists that can step in to help if there are ever any unexpected circumstances. I partner closely with other vendors in the area to ensure if this happens, I’ve got you covered! If I’m honest, I will do literally anything for my brides to ensure that I am there on the big day.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO PREPARE FOR MAKEUP ON THE WEDDING DAY?

Just like your trial confirmation text, I also send out your wedding day confirmation text one week prior to your payment due date. This will include prep, my arrival time, confirmation of the getting ready address as well as final payment details and another copy of your schedule. I encourage you to forward that text to your bridal party members so they too know what to expect!

For your makeup application, I ask that clients arrive with clean freshly cleansed & moisturized skin. If you don’t typically moisturize, don’t worry, I usually do skincare prep before starting your makeup application.

Please remember, if you or any member of your bridal party arrives with makeup still on and it requires removal, there will be an additional fee.

Please wear a robe/dressing gown or something that can be easily taken off rather than over the head as this may affect the finished makeup.

WHAT TYPE OF BRANDS DO YOU USE?

I use many different high-end brands hand-selected to give the best results for each skin type. Makeup brands include Bare Minerals (foundations), Smashbox, Laura Mercier, Gerard Cosmetics, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Morphe, Colourpop, BH Cosmetics, ELF and many more.

DO YOU CATER TO SENSITIVE OR PROBLEM-PRONE SKIN?

If you have sensitive skin, I have products designed to calm and desensitize your skin. For Acne/Rosacea or problem-prone skin, I use specially formulated primers and concealers to neutralize redness, ensuring your skin remains flawless all day. I’ve been doing makeup professionally for 13+ years now and my specialty is the “no makeup-makeup” as well as “natural glam”. I work especially hard to make sure you look as much like yourself and feel comfortable in your own skin while minimizing the things that you don’t love about your skin. Focusing on using products with minimal ingredients, and most importantly ingredients that are good for your skin and non-comedogenic is very important to me. I want your skin to be able to breathe and I want to make sure you don’t feel as though you have a mask of foundation caked on to your face. Coverage is best achieved with sheer buildable layers, so you avoid that heavy “makeup” feeling on the skin.

I NORMALLY WEAR VERY LITTLE MAKEUP; WILL I NEED TO WEAR LOTS OF MAKEUP TO LOOK GOOD?

Not at all, my service is about enhancing your natural features and creating a look that feels like you, just more polished, ensuring you look flawless on and off camera. Bridal makeup is all about good balance therefore I will ensure there is a balance of what will look good on camera and still natural to make sure you feel comfortable with your chosen look. The “no makeup-makeup” look is classic and timeless. I focus on a “natural glam” vibe that photographs beautifully and still stays true to who you are.

I WANT TO USE SOME OF MY OWN MAKEUP PRODUCTS IS THIS POSSIBLE?

To an extent, yes! When I send out your trial text, I would encourage you to voice a concern such as this (a foundation you absolutely love to use, a specific type of lash you want for the big day etc. as I may ask you to bring it with you for the trial). I want you to feel totally comfortable so if you would like me to use a product, such as a favorite lip color or a set of lashes you know works well on your skin I am more than happy to do so. However, any sort of complexion product (foundation, concealer, eye pallet, etc.) will have to come from Haley directly (unless we have spoken about this prior to). Due to increased concerns with COVID and strict sanitation standards, I opt to use my products versus yours to avoid any cross contamination or risk of virus spread. I use disposable wands and applicators with all of my products and sanitize brushes and pallets in between each client. If this is a concern for you, just let me know and we can discuss further.

WILL HAVING A TAN OR LASH EXTENSIONS AFFECT MY MAKEUP ON THE WEDDING DAY?

If you get a tan after your trial run, don’t worry as the makeup can be color-matched again on the wedding day to blend with the tan. I do encourage you to try your spray tan out prior to your wedding especially if you’ve never had one. If you plan on having one, getting one prior to your trial is a fantastic idea as it gives you a “real idea” of what your makeup will look like the day of the wedding since when you are tanner, the colors we use look different than they do when you have fairer skin tone. In regard to lash extensions, they will have a similar look to false lashes so if it's something you're considering, I can apply false lashes during your trial to get the same look.

DO YOU CATER TO ALL SKIN TYPES/TONES?

Absolutely! I have 13+ years doing bridal and special occasion makeup and have performed many applications on different ethnicities and skin types. I ask you tons of questions about both you and your bridal party before-hand so when I go to make your schedule for the big day I have an idea of what each person is looking for.

ARE YOU FULLY INSURED AND QUALIFIED IN WEDDING MAKEUP?

Yes, I am covered by liability insurance, and I will not operate without it. I am both fully qualified and highly experienced to ensure you have the best makeup experience and peace of mind in knowing you have booked a professional for the big day.

DO YOU CATER TO SAME SEX COUPLES? ARE YOU LGBTQ+ FRIENDLY?

Yes & Yes! I cater to ALL couples! Love is love and I have plenty of experience doing same sex weddings.
